Happy Birthday to my Baby!

Wow, time flies.  Just last week, Levi was this size, wasn’t he?

Now, he’s 2.  My baby is 2.  I can’t believe it!

(ignore the food in the picture…)

I feel like I missed out on so much with him when I was teaching.  I hardly saw him.  I’m so thankful that I have the opportunity, now, to be with him every day.  I have gotten to know his cries, fusses, and words so much better now.  I remember one day last summer, we went to stay with my grandma.  He kept crying about something and I couldn’t figure it out (it was RIGHT after the summer started).  My grandma was able to figure it out right away.  That was one clue that I had been working too much.  That’s when I started considering staying home seriously.

Now I know what his “words” mean, what he needs, and what he enjoys (puppies!).  He loves to give hugs, kisses, and cuddle (until he’s ready to get moving again).  He enjoys driving his brother crazy by constantly taking his precious toys away.  Anytime he or anyone else says “puppy,” he follows it with an “arf!”  When I call him turkey he says “gobble, gobble” immediately.  He makes me laugh.  He goes to bed easily and naps easily.  He eats well.  I don’t have to worry about him not getting enough food.  He enjoys walking around the house and pulling things off the shelf, dumping the toy bucket over, pulling the DVD’s off of the shelf, etc, just to make a mess.  He also helps clean up the mess ;-) .  He helps unload the dishwasher, making it easier for me.  He loves his family.  I’m sad that he’s growing up (since he’s our last, at least biological child), but I’m excited to see who he turns out to be.  His favorite song is Hosanna, and I hope that his heart will follow that song as he grows.  I desire for him to grow up to be a man of God.  All I can do is pray, teach, model, and leave it up to God.

I’m so thankful for Levi!
