I’m beginning to love these posts… They are therapeutic… seriously.
So, I’ve been staring at my blog a lot today. I have all of these thoughts swimming around in my head… so many posts that I want to write… and I can’t think because of my loud, crazy kids. I typically try to only blog when they are having quiet time (or early in the morning before everyone gets moving around), but today was one of those “quiet-time-less” days.
So, since I couldn’t think to write blog posts, I thought I’d read some other blogs. That was probably a bad idea…
I’ll be honest and say that sometimes I feel that I am just wasting my time. There are so, so, so many other “mommy blogs” out there. So many mommies that write about living simply and intentionally, so many mommies that write about meal planning and grocery shopping on a budget, so many mommies that write about “real food” eating, so many mommies that write about using natural products/detergents/cleaners, so many mommies that share about discipling their kids, so many mommies that discuss the joys and struggles of parenting, and so many mommies that share what God has been teaching them. And from what I can tell, my reader numbers are still very small, despite the fact that I have been blogging for about five years.
So, what makes my blog different than all of these other blogs?
I always write about what’s on my heart (things that I feel prompted by the Holy Spirit to share, often). I strive to share the good, the bad, and the ugly of real life. I desire to share the things that I’m passionate about… and I desire to be ME. That may not be what “sells,” but it is what it is. At this point, the desire that I have for my blog is to continue to be real, to encourage others, to help other mamas in this difficult journey, and mostly, to point others to Jesus.
Through all of that, I had to come to the conclusion (yet again) that the numbers don’t matter. If I can encourage one mama, then it’s worth it. I know that God has called me to write for a reason and a purpose. I trust that He will be glorified through it.
And I love the readers that I do have! I’m blessed with some amazing friends (in real life and online) that are constantly encouraging, and I hope that I am the same to them!

You go girl! Write.
You encourage me regularly, sweet friend. I am glad we still get to peek into your heart and be blessed by it.
I really enjoy your blog and am encouraged by your strength. Keep it up.
I love reading your posts. You are very encouraging. Keep writing!
Thanks, ladies
