Real Milk

I have bought raw milk off and on for a few years.  Because of the laws in Texas, it has only been available to buy at the farm; therefore, it has been complicated to attain.  I have made the decision lately that it is important to make it more of a priority.

Let me explain why.

When bought from a Grade A farm, raw milk is so much less dangerous than bought from a store.  Have you ever driven by a conventional dairy farm?  You can smell it from a mile away.  It is disgusting. The reason is that they are all shoved together in a small cage, and forced to live in their own filth.  They are pumped with hormones and antibiotics, and they pasteurize because if not, there would be all kinds of illnesses and diseases passed on.

Milk from a Grade A farm is tested regularly (sometimes even every batch), and the cows are raised grazing on pasture.  They are not cooped up with 100 (or more) other cows because they are allowed to roam the land.  There’s no need for hormones or antibiotics.

Pasteurization actually kills so many beneficial enzymes and good bacteria.  It also makes milk very difficult to digest, and is linked to lactoste intolerance, asthma, alleries, attention deficit disorder, gastro-intestinal problems, and constipation.  Raw milk contains vitamins A, B6, B12, C, and D, folate, calcium, iron, iodine, and other minerals.  Pasteurization makes it very difficult for the body to digest these important nutrients.
Some more benefits of raw milk are that it boosts the immune system, helps with tooth decay, helps with anxiety and stress, and is an incredible source of protein.  You could actually live off of raw milk alone!

As difficult as it can be, it is important to know where your food comes from.  Studies show that good quality meats, eggs, cheese, and veggies are much healthier than what most people eat these days (low fat/low sugar foods).  Real food is best.
