Things have been so crazy lately that it would be so easy to get down about life. I find that focusing on TODAY, enjoying my family/friends, and being excited about even little things helps tons. It’s amazing how little things can have a big impact. I’m also so incredibly thankful for the amount of people praying for me, loving me, and giving me big hugs! I feel so loved all of the time!
I’m so excited about little things… like Christmas music constantly playing in the background, a beautiful Christmas tree, hot tea on a cold night, conversation with my hubby about the future, making messy things with the boys (playdough and sensory tubs!), listening to Karis read with excitement (especially when it’s her Bible!), hugs and encouragement from good friends, learning how to sew (which is slow coming
), and I’m so excited about things coming up in the future.
As I mentioned a few posts ago, after a long period of time in which I just didn’t have a desire to focus on “natural living,” I have a re-newed passion for it… and honestly, I am super excited about it
.
So when I saw several posts on Facebook about an amazing deal on “Healthy Living” e-books (and a ton of free items!), I wanted to just jump on it right away. Because of all the traveling we have been doing lately (unexpected), we really just didn’t have it in the budget.
I talked with Robert about it, and I was able to buy it as a Christmas gift
. I love my hubby. He knows me so well
.
In addition to the 34 e-books (about real foods, meal planning, recipes, natural remedies, natural pregnancy, natural skin care, homemade scrubs, organic gardening, urban homesteading, etc), I also received a lot of products for free!
I cannot wait to get these products in the mail:
Cultures for Health Whole Wheat Sourdough Starter
Hazelnut Kids Art Journal Kit (part of Karis’ Christmas)
MadeOn Skin Care Products Lip Balm (4 tubes)
I also received 3 more e-books by enrolling in the Cultures for Health Newsletter: How to Make Yogurt, Kombucha, and Kefir (which, I just bought some water kefir grains, so I can’t wait to get started!).
I paid the shipping on these items… but it was minimal… and definitely worth it.
I also made the decision to join a real foods co-op in the area. I made my first order yesterday, and next week is the pick-up. Through this co-op, I was able to order farm fresh milk, chicken, eggs, and a half share of produce (next time I’ll probably order honey as well). I would have ordered beef as well, but we have tons of venison so we won’t need to for a while! Tomorrow, the women who run the co-op are even teaching a Winter Wellness class. It seems like a great group of ladies to get to know
.
Our family was also given some chickens… they are just living with my parents until we get our coop built (which could be a while… we’ll see!). I will love having chickens again, and so will the kids!
I realize that these things aren’t a big deal to most people, but I am truly giddy over them
. The amount of resources in this area blow me away!
I’m also realizing lately that I’m a bit strange… but I am beginning to love who I am, and I’m thankful that God made me the way He did. We all have different passions and things that make us excited, and mine just happen to be chickens, real food, natural products, etc. I ran away from it for a while because I was mentally/emotionally/physically exhausted, but now that I’m getting into a routine in life (and finally feel content with where we are), I feel that I have the energy and desire to put back into this way of life again. At one point I thought that this just wasn’t me, but I realized that it just wasn’t the right time. It wasn’t the right season.
I’ve started reading my e-books already, and I can’t wait to put some new things into practice. I’ll share as I add new things to my routine!
